Cromwell Mint Casino, now part of the Stanley Leisure Group and renamed The Mint Casino London, is a lovely club in the heart of Kensington, offering a first class friendly service in a very pleasant environment. One of my favourite casinos.
It has two gaming areas, two bars, a buffet area and a restaurant. The main gaming area is in the lower floor, where periodical complimentary buffet and bar drinks are served.
The other gaming area called the "Silver Room" is in the upper floor along with the reastaurant and the Sports Bar. The Silver Room has an exclusive environment for high rollers, allowing higher limit bets.
The Sports Bar shows live sporting action on wide screen TV. The adjacent restaurant offers an extensive menu including Oriental and European dishes. The food is first class, the prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy dining as much as gambling.
Becoming a member

The law requesting new casino members to wait 24 hours before being permitted to game was abolished on 1st October 2005.
You can now apply and become a member of a casino in the UK instantly and play straight away. Although acceptance is normally automatic, they may at their discretion decline your application.
To become a member of The Mint Casino you can either visit in person or fill in an online form available on their website. You will find instructions on completing the application on their website.
Anyone aged 18 or more can apply. You can be a British citizen or an overseas visitor.
All new members must present identification on their first visit to the casino. A passport or a photo driving licence is suffcient. Other suitable documents are: old driving licence (without photo), Bankers Card, Debit or Credit Card. These however should be supported by a domestic bill (electricity, gas, telephone) or similar (a pension book).
Opening times
Casino: open 2pm to 6am Sunday to Friday, 2pm to 4am Saturday
Bars: open 2pm to 5am
Restaurant: open 7.30pm to 1.30am (table booking recommended)
Games played
- American style Roulette, single zero, table minimums: £1 on a number £5 on the outside bets (2 tables); also £2 and £5 tables
- Blackjack, £5 and £10 minimum bet tables
- Jackpot Slots/Video Games, generally 50p per spin, also multi-line slots with various bet options
- Casino Stud Poker (Caribbean 5-card stud poker), £5 minimum bet (has been replaced with new "World Series Poker" table game - a version of Texas Hold'em Poker, playing against the casino)
- Three-card Poker (casino brag), £5 minimum bet
- Punto Banco/Baccarat, £10 minimum bet (mini table, in the Silver Room)
- Auto Roulette/Touch-bet roulette, single zero (two types, electronic and machine-operated roulette wheel), minimum: 50p on a number £2 on the outside bets.
The Sports bars

Watch your favourite team play on big screen TV. All televised Premiership, FA Cup and Champions League games shown live.
Other major sporting events such as Motor Racing, Tennis, Boxing, Golf and Cricket are also screened throughout the year.
The Mint Casino has a choice of two bars, with TV:
The upstairs bar serves the TV lounge (in the sports bar area), the main restaurant upstairs and the Silver Room 'Salle Privee' gaming room. The TV lounge can be used as an extension of the adjoining main restaurant and you can order food from the menu and dine while watching TV.
The downstairs casino bar in the main gaming hall serves a complimentary buffet throughout the day (there is a small nominal charge at certain times) and screens all the major sporting events.
The restaurant
The Mint casino restaurant offers the discerning diner a selection of Pan-Asian and European dishes. You will find first class food and enjoy excellent service. It is advisable to book in advance on Saturdays. For reservations telephone 020 7589 4041, during opening hours.
Currently, the restaurant is also serving a special offer 2 for 1 (food only) every evening before 8.30pm. It means dining in a first class restaurant at half-price - fantastic value. Also, if you celebrate your birthday at the Mint Casino they will give you a complimentary bottle of champagne with your dinner.
Dress code
Smart casual. No sporting colours, ripped clothing, no hooded tops/jackets. Long coats are to be left at the cloakroom.
Smoking facility
There is a small separate dedicated smoking area in the lower gaming floor.
Parking
Valet car parking (car jockey service) is available from 2pm until 6am, free of charge.
